Brisbane opens 23 September
OMG, HOW DO I GET TICKETS?
Tickets go on sale Monday 3 September at 12pm – on this website.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO ATTEND?
You’ll need to purchase a ticket online. There is a waiver at the checkout that you need to read and accept before making payment. Once this is completed you’ll receive an email from Eventbrite (our ticketing partner) with your tickets.
CAN I BUY TICKETS WHEN I ARRIVE?
No – tickets are only available online.
CAN I CANCEL MY BOOKING?
Sorry, no. Tickets are strictly non-refundable. If you are unable to attend you may transfer your ticket to another session for a limited time (fees apply), or transfer it to another person. We do not support the re-selling of tickets on third party platforms. ID may be requested when you arrive.
WHAT IS THE AGE LIMIT?
Sugar Republic is aimed at grown-ups but there’s no age restriction as long as you love sugar! Children must be under supervision at all times. Children aged 2 and under get free entry.
WHAT ARE THE NIGHT SESSIONS?
Night sessions from 6.30pm are only for adults 18+ as we know that some guests prefer to experience Sugar Republic without children. Please note that last entry for children is 6pm, so there may still be children inside until 7pm. For a completely child-free experience we suggest booking a slot from 7pm onwards. Important: guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed entry into Sugar Republic.
WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR MY TIMED TICKET?
We ask that you arrive within 15 minutes of your ticket time (e.g if your ticket is for 2pm you can arrive from 1.45 to 2.15). Your ticket is only valid for the date and time purchased. If you miss your time slot your ticket is no longer valid and cannot be refunded. Groups must arrive together.
HOW LONG WILL MY VISIT TAKE?
You can take your sweet time going through the exhibit, up to one hour. Some activities including the ball pit and gum ball machine have time limits.
WHAT HAPPENS AT CHECK IN?
Our team will check your ticket at the door. You may be asked for ID. Bags and coats will need to be checked into our cloakroom.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Bring your ticket, your ID, your phone/camera and your sweet self.
Some of the experiences require that you remove your shoes so please wear socks or tights, as you may not be allowed to participate with bare feet.
IS THERE A COAT CHECK?
CAN I BRING A PRAM?
Prams are not permitted inside the exhibit but we do have a pram parking area.
DO YOU HAVE TOILETS?
Please note that there are no toilet facilities in the exhibition, however there are public toilets next to the venue, inside Valley Metro, should you wish to use the bathroom before you start your visit.
ARE SCHOOL BOOKINGS WELCOME?
Sorry, we are not able to welcome school groups.
ARE PETS ALLOWED?
No. With the exception of Guide Dogs and Assistance Dogs, who are allowed into the exhibit under the effective control of their owner, pets are not allowed. Guide Dog and Assistance Dog owners should be aware that there is open food inside the exhibit.
IS THE EVENT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?
The building and rooms are almost all wheelchair accessible, but please note that some activities and rooms may not be suitable for people with disabilities. If you have any questions before your visit please email [email protected].
IS PHOTOGRAPHY ALLOWED?
Are you serious? We encourage it. Please note that selfie sticks and tripods are not permitted though. Our staff love taking photos for you, just ask.
Commercial photo shoots are strictly NOT allowed, unless by prior agreement. Please email [email protected] to book a commercial shoot.
IS FOOD SERVED AT THE EVENT?
Sugar Republic is primarily a pop up art event and a space for taking photos (it is NOT a lolly factory or food fair!) however we do have a few tastings on offer for our sugar-loving visitors, which may include ice cream, lollies and fairy floss. The treats on offer vary and not all of these are on offer every day but you will always find at least 3-4 little tastings.
I HAVE A FOOD ALLERGY. WILL I BE ABLE TO EAT THE TASTINGS?
There is a selection of tastings at Sugar Republic. Please note that our kitchen handles wheat, eggs, milk, soy and tree nuts, and all of our food samples and treats may come into contact with these. If you have any food allergies or requirements please ask our staff for assistance.
CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD AND DRINK?
Food and drink are not allowed in, with the exception of bottled water and food necessary for infants.
IS EACH EVENT THE SAME?
Sugar Republic Brisbane has many of the same installations as our popular Melbourne event, however you will also find some changes and local features.
CAN I HOLD A PRIVATE EVENT?
Yes indeed! We love hosting birthday parties, hen parties, team building events, VIP private tours and you can even get married at Sugar Republic. Please email [email protected] to discuss your special event or to find out about our corporate and party packages.
IS IT GOING TO BE AMAZING?
You have no idea!
